There is always more to appreciate about a beauty line when it’s born from the hands of women inspired by another. The three nieces that founded vegan and cruelty-free beauty brand Sabreen Cosmetics did so in honor of their late aunt, Nabeenah Sabreen, who lost her battle to breast cancer in 2009. From there, the beautiful ladies of the Sabreen Cosmetics brand have launched some of the best PETA-certified, non-toxic lip colors I’ve used in a while. With their Liquid Matte Lipstick Enhancer being the latest I’ve played in, and a new launch of their Queen Gloss, I was hyped to finally write a review on the brand and their products.
While there is never that much to be said about a matte lipstick, I’ve learned that for every beauty crush that I’ve fallen for, there’s been a few categories they’ve consistently won me over with: the type, finish, transfer, application and shade range.
For a gut-instinctive reaction to the shade I tested and loved, Taj, you can watch below. Below, you can read get my brown girl insights on the matte lip color and overall impression (which, by the way, is very good).
Easy, smooth and best if you apply in thin layers. The lip color sets evenly flat and comfortably against your lips.
None; minor peeling if your lips are dry, however.
The Shade Range
Extensive; shades from trendy violet purple (Jasmine) to the everyday nudes (Taj, Kamaria, Sanaa).
