Pulling Your Hair Off Your Face Can Make Your Face Look Thinner (Duh)

It can also, sometimes, make your face look thinner. At least, that’s what I’ve realized about my face. I’ve gained weight in the past, and when I’ve done so, I’ve gained it in my face and it annoys the hell out of me. So I learned a trick on set: pull your hair back, leaving a little volume on top, and you’ll possibly balance out your face, making it look slimmer.

Duh. Why didn’t I think of that?

Anyways, I’ve learned a new hair hack to get me through the winter months when I decide to eat my life away as a hermit.

BB girls, how to do you make your face look thinner? And don’t say by contouring either. I don’t have time for that shit.

I have a round face, and I noticed that my face looks thinner when my hair is pulled back too. Unfortunately, I can only do that when I wear a sew-in since my natural hair is short.

I love you. Seriously. Whenever I come across websites that, instead of making darker skintones out to be ‘different’ or ‘weird’, praises our layer of melanin on the top layer of our skin, I feel deeply touched. You are a rolemodel. No lie. I am indian, so I’m not really black, technically, but I’m dark nevertheless. And the fact that you present and rate things such as nude underwear and foundations for darker skins, which can be HELL to find, makes me want to give you a virtual hug. So thank you.

HI Emily! Thank you so much for your kind words! I would love to start featuring Indian, Latina and other women of color on the site because I’m now realizing that we ALL go through the same stuff as darker women. I so appreciate you coming to visit the site and I hope you come back! xo, Melanie
