To be honest, I think that this is the one statement-making lip color that should be planned out a bit. Orange lipstick isn’t as “every day” as a red one is. I think the key to pulling off an orange lip is to make sure you have the right texture (matte, gloss or satin) for your preference, the best shade, and an understanding that the rest of your makeup has to look flawless.
What I wore:
Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss lipstick in A-Go-Go. It’s a bit drying, but nothing a little lip balm can’t take care of.[masterslider id=”10″]
How I pulled it off:
As you can see above, and even here, my makeup is done. I really believe in pulling a look together for orange lipstick. Always. For the glossy orange lip, which is by Make Up For Ever, I accented my cheeks with a hint of NARS blush in Exhibit A.
For the look above, I decided to forgo the orange blush and instead applied a peachy bronze blush by MAC, called Ambering Rose. Why? Because the lipstick is kind of blurred. It’s about balance, for me.
