Lately, the beauty industry has made us obsessed with highlighters and such, seeking a trend of glowing, almost dew-like skin this season and next. But with fall approaching, I like to retreat to some of the classic beauty trends during this time of year. One of those trends will forever be sultry, warm blushes against my dark skin tone. The fall season tends to bring in the typical warm hues and tones, in addition to rich browns and berries, complementing our various complexions, and I love all of it.
Blush, in my opinion, has always been kind of an overlooked beauty staple. Or, if it hasn’t been overlooked, it has at times been underused by way of staying safe or trends moving to focus on highlights and bronzers. However, to this day, I believe it’s the easiest way to accomplish a natural contour of the face, besides using two-different foundation shades. It’s also one of the cheapest beauty products to play with and not feel bad for your budget.
Black and brown women normally have stuck to the mauves, pinks, and bronzers and kept it in the powder blush category and rightfully so. They’re everyday shades that usually show up beautifully on our skin and are easy to navigate.
From the silky texture to its unique finish, I’ve always had a thing for the Hard to Get Extra Dimension blush by MAC. The iridescent warm, burgundy bronzed brown hue is one of a kind for my complexion.
On top of the unique mash-up of the perfect texture, finish and color for my complexion, I love the fact that the shade is appropriate for an everyday look. You can see, in the video above, how the blush blends seamlessly into my skin and the gorgeous finish that gives you just enough to turn heads.
